Grouped Announcements (Fast Playback)

Grouped announcements are designed to deliver multiple types of information in a single, efficient message. This feature combines general updates, winner notifications, invitations, and preparation instructions, allowing for faster and clearer communication during tournaments.

How Grouped Announcements Work

Instead of sending separate messages for each event, grouped announcements merge several announcement types into one concise statement. This reduces playback time and ensures all relevant details are communicated together.

Message Types and Their Usage:

  • Generic: Uses details from the currently active bout.
  • Winner: Specifically for announcing winners, especially when winner-related variables are included.
  • Current Bout Invitation: Invites participants for the current bout, if available.
  • Next Bout Preparation: Prepares participants for the upcoming bout.

When setting up grouped announcements, select the appropriate message type for each block to ensure the correct bout information is used.

Example Message Blocks

  • Generic Block:
    On {controllerName}.
    Example: On Tatami 1.
  • Winner Block:
    The winner is {winnerParticipantName} - {winnerParticipantCountry}.
Example: The winner is John Doe - Lithuania.
  • Invitation Block:
    Invited: {firstParticipantName} - {firstParticipantCountry}; {secondParticipantName} - {secondParticipantCountry}.
Example: Invited: John Doe - Lithuania; Jake Smith - Latvia.
  • Preparation Block:
    Prepares {firstParticipantName} - {firstParticipantCountry}; {secondParticipantName} - {secondParticipantCountry}.
Example: Prepares John Doe - Lithuania; Jake Smith - Latvia.

Preview of a Grouped Announcement

A typical grouped announcement might look like this:

On Tatami 1. The winner is John Doe - Lithuania. Invited: John Doe - Lithuania; Jake Smith - Latvia. Prepares John Doe - Lithuania; Jake Smith - Latvia.

By using grouped announcements, you can keep tournament communications fast, organized, and easy to follow for all participants and attendees.

Controller Voice Setup

Different voices can be assigned to individual controllers. This is particularly useful in tournaments with multiple tatamis, as sportsmen become familiar with the specific voice associated with their tatami of interest.

Manual Triggering of Announcements

Next to individual announcements and the grouped announcement preview, you will find buttons to manually trigger announcements. When you click one of these buttons, a prompt will appear asking you to select the controller that should be associated with this announcement.

Announcement Manual Trigger

After selecting the controller, you will be shown a preview of the message that will be sent to the announcement queue, based on the announcement type. Once you confirm, the announcement will be automatically played through the selected controller.

This feature allows for precise and flexible control over announcements, ensuring the right message is delivered to the correct area at the right time.

Announcement Message Template

Each announcement type can be customized with its own template. Templates come with predefined settings that you can edit to suit your needs and language.

The following variables can be included in the templates. They will automatically populate with relevant bout information:
