The 4th KWF Karate Asian Championship

KWF Asian Championships 14-15/11/2026, Aktobe Among young men, juniors, men and women, in the "Kata" and "Kumite" sections.

1. Regulations and deadline for the submission of participants’ applications

The deadline for the submissions of applications to participate in Asian Championships is November 1 2026.

Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Applications must be written and submitted using the form required by the organizers of the Championships (see Appendix 1)

If the weight or age of athlete does not match the information given in the application, the athlete is cancelled from the competition.

If athlete is registered for the tournament but is not able to attend the competition for any reason, the team’s representatives have to inform the organizers about that before the registration for the reasons of making draws for the competition.

The participation fee of Asian Championships is 60 USD (if an athlete is willing to participate in two categories the total fee is 100 USD).

Applications submitted late or incorrectly will not be accepted.

2. Registration and weigh-in of participants

Registration and weigh-in of participants will be held on November 13, 2026, from 09:00 to 20:00. Address of the registration venue: 

Aktobe city, Oraz Tateuly street 5, «Jekpe Jek» Sports Complex.

The required documents for the registration:

- original application of the national team (see Appendix 1);

- passport;

- medical visa allowing to participate;

- permissions (see Appendix 2 and 3).

3. Date and venue.

The Asian Championships will be held on November 14-15, 2026. Address of the competition venue: Aktobe city, Oraz Tateuly street 5, «Jekpe Jek» Sports Complex.

4. Age and weight categories

«Kata» category

U14 boys (12-13 years of age) and U14 girls (12-13 years of age):

First round is one chosen kata (PINAN 1,2,3,4,5, TSUKINOKATA, GEKSAIDAI, GEKSAISHO, YANTSU, SAIHA).

Final round is one chosen kata (TSUKINOKATA, GEKSAIDAI, GEKSAISHO, YANTSU, SAIHA).

U16 boys (14-15 years of age) and U16 girls (14-15 years of age):

First round is one chosen kata (PINAN 1,2,3,4,5, TSUKINOKATA, GEKSAIDAI, GEKSAISHO, YANTSU, SAIHA).

Final round is one chosen kata (TSUKINOKATA, GEKSAIDAI, GEKSAISHO,YANTSU, SAIHA).

U18 boys (16-17 years of age) and U18 girls (16-17 years of age):

First round is one chosen kata (TSUKINOKATA, GEKSAIDAI, GEKSAISHO,YANTSU, SAIHA).

Final round is one chosen kata (SEIENCHIN, SEIPAI, KANKU, GARYU,SUSHIHO).

Adult men and adult women (18+ years of age):

First round is one chosen kata (TSUKINOKATA, GEKSAIDAI, GEKSAISHO, YANTSU, SAIHA).

Final round is one chosen kata (SEIENCHIN, SEIPAI, KANKU, GARYU,SUSHIHO).

«Кumite» category

U14 boys (12-13 years of age): -30 kg; -32.5 kg; -35 kg; -37.5 kg; -40 kg; -42.5 kg; -45 kg; -47.5 kg; -50 kg; -52.5 kg; -55 kg; over 55 kg.

2 min + 2 min. + weighing (in order for someone to win the weight difference must be 2 kg or more) + 1 min.

U14 girls (12-13 years of age): -35 kg; -37.5 kg; -40 kg; -42.5 kg; -45 kg; -47.5 kg; -50 kg; over 50 kg.

2 min + 2 min. + weighing (in order for someone to win the weight difference must be 2 kg or more) + 1 min.

U16 boys (14-15 years of age): -40 kg; -42.5 kg; -45 kg; -47.5 kg; -50 kg; -52.5 kg; -55 kg; -57.5 kg; -60 kg; -62.5 kg; -65 kg; over 65 kg.

U16 girls (14-15 years of age): -45 kg; -47.5 kg; -50 kg; -52.5 kg; -55 kg; -57.5 kg; -60 kg; over 60 kg.

U18 boys (16-17 years of age): -50 kg; -55 kg; -60 kg; -65 kg; -70 kg; -75 kg; over 75 kg.

2 min + 2 min. + weighing (in order for someone to win the weight difference must be 2 kg or more) + 1 min

U18 girls (16-17 years of age): -50 kg; -55 kg; -60 kg; -65 kg; over 65 kg.

2 min + 2 min. + weighing (in order for someone to win the weight difference must be 2 kg or more) + 1 min

Adult men (18+ years of age): 60 kg; -65 kg; -70 kg; -75 kg; -80 kg; -85kg; -90kg; over 90 kg.

3 min + 2 min. + weighing (in order for someone to win the weight difference must be 3 kg or more) + 2 min

Adult women (18+ years of age): -50 kg; -55 kg; -60 kg; -65 kg; over 65 kg.

3 min + 2 min. + weighing (in order for someone to win the weight difference must be 3 kg or more) + 2 min

The age of the participants is registered as if on November 14, 2026.

5. Competition system and awarding.

The Asian Championship is held as an individual competition using the Olympic single-elimination system.

Athletes who take first place are awarded cups, certificates, and medals.

Athletes who take second and third places are awarded certificates and medals. There are 2 third places.

6. Requirements for athletes.

For the athletes under 18 years of age: shin guards and karate gloves made of white cloth, groin protection for both boys and girls, clean white karate gi, breast protection for girls (should be worn under white t-shirt), white headgear with face protection as in the picture and belt of athlete’s qualification.

For adult athletes: groin protection for both men and women, clean white karate gi, breast protection for women (should be worn under white t-shirt) and belt of athlete’s qualification

Note: Athletes will not be permitted to compete if the above requirements are not met. The organizers bear no responsibility for injuries sustained during the tournament.

7. Judging and refereeing

Judging and refereeing seminar will be held on November 13, 2026, from 17:00 to 20:00. Address of the seminar venue: Aktobe city, Oraz Tateuly street 5, «Jekpe Jek» Sports Complex.

The Asian Championship will be held according to KWF Kyokushinkai Karate rules.

Dress code for the Judges:

Dark blue shirt, white bow tie

• Black classic trousers.
